Ipswich Town interested in Everton striker Nathan Broadhead as former loanee Macauley Bonne leaves QPR
Ipswich Town have been linked with a move for Everton striker Nathan Broadhead.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan with Championship side Wigan Athletic, having previously had spells with both Burton Albion and Sunderland in League One.
It was at the latter where he recorded the best season of his career so far, scoring 13 goals in all competitions to help the Black Cats return to the Championship.
According to the Sunderland Echo, Town have tabled a bid for the striker, with similar reports suggesting that the Blues are showing an interest in Broadhead.
However, it is reported that Broadhead is keen to remain in the Championship, where has scored five goals this season.
Speaking about the striker, Wigan manager Kolo Toure said: "Nathan is still with us, and that's all we're focused on.
"He is a very good player, a great professional and I like him.We will assess the situation, as we will with all of the players in that situation."
Meanwhile, former Town loanee Macauley Bonne has left QPR by mutual consent.
Bonne made just eight appearance for the Hoops during the first half of the season, all of which came from the bench.
The 27-year-old could be an interesting proposition for Town, with his affinity to the club as a boyhood fan well-documented.
He made a superb start to life at Portman Road in his loan last season, scoring nine goals in 10 appearances.
