Ipswich Town: Liam Delap’s relegation release clause is £30m with top clubs interested including Chelsea and Manchester United

Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who has caught the eye of a number of top clubs this season, reportedly has a relegation release clause of £30 million.

The 22-year-old frontman has enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League with 12 goals for a team that look destined to go down at the end of the campaign as they currently sit 18th and 12 points off 17th-placed Wolves.

Delap has been linked to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham, as well as sides in Europe, over the last few months.

According to The Guardian, if the Blues are relegated, their top scorer this season will be available for £30 million.

Manchester City also have a 20 per cent sell-on in the deal after they sold him to Kieran McKenna’s side in a deal worth up to £20 million last summer.

Suffolk News’ media partners TWTD previously reported that the chase for Delap was being led by Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Red Devils’ technical director Jason Wilcox knew the England U21 international from his time at the Etihad.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has said both United and Chelsea are keen on Delap as he’s part of their shortlists for the summer transfer window.
