Ipswich Town linked with Jessic Ngankam from Eintracht Frankfurt while Blackburn Rovers ‘unwilling to sell’ Sam Gallagher claim reports
Ipswich Town have been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jessic Ngankam.
According to German website fussball.news, the Blues, as well as Luton Town and Royal Antwerp, have inquired about the 23-year-old.
Ngankam, who has made five appearances for the German Under-21 national team, moved to Frankfurt from Bundesliga 2 side Hertha Berlin in the summer.
He is yet to find the back of the net in the league for his new club, but was on target in Frankfurt’s 2-0 win over Levski Sofia in the final round of Europa Conference League qualification.
After a loan spell at Greuther Fürth in the 2021/22 season, Ngankam returned to Berlin where he scored four times in 18 appearances across all competitions last campaign.
Town were known to want to bring in two strikers this window and they got their first through the door on Monday, when they completed the signing of Ali Al-Hamadi from AFC Wimbledon.
Blackburn Rovers frontman Sam Gallagher is a name that the Blues have been linked with throughout the window.
After lodging multiple bids for the 28-year-old, The Express have reported that the Lancashire outfit are ‘categorically unwilling to sell’ their star striker.
Gallagher scored for Rovers on Monday night in their 4-1 victory over Wrexham in the Emirates FA Cup at Ewood Park.
As well as Al-Hamadi, the Blues have made two other signings this window in the arrival of midfielder Lewis Travis from Rovers and winger Jeremy Sarmiento on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
