Ipswich Town: Pre-season friendlies against Cambridge United and Stevenage announced

Ipswich Town have announced their first pre-season friendlies of the summer taking place on the same day.

Following their promotion to Sky Bet Championship at the end of last season, the Blues face off against Cambridge United and Stevenage on the same day on Saturday, July 22.

At midday, Kieran McKenna’s men take on the U’s at the Abbey Stadium before a trip to the Lamex Stadium for a 3pm start against Boro.

Ticketing details are set to be announced in due course with both games open to supporters.

In League One last season, the Tractor Boys beat the U’s 3-0 at Portman Road but drew 1-1 at the Abbey Stadium and Town last played Stevenage in a League Cup tie at Portman Road in 2016 where they suffered a 1-0 loss.

The two matches will come a week after the Blues return from their week-long training camp in Austria, after Slovakian side Spartak Trnava announced that they would be playing a friendly against Town on Saturday, July 15.
