Ipswich Sports Club prepares to host Karakal East of England Squash Masters Tournament once again
Ipswich Sports Club are gearing up to host the top squash players from across the UK for three days of action in the Karakal East of England Squash Masters Tournament from Friday.
After successfully hosting the competition last year for the first time, the sports complex situated at Henley Road have once again been chosen to stage it.
There will be a number of age categories being represented, including women's Over-35s up to O60, and men's O35 all the way up to O75.
Nearly 300 people attended last year and organisers are anticipating that figure being eclipsed across the three days of the 2023 tournament.
Chris Grimwood, general manager at Ipswich Sports Club, said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to host this prestigious tournament again.
"It’s great to bring so many talented people of all ages to the club and see everyone enjoying their sport.
"We’ve recently invested in upgrading many areas of our facilities meaning the competitors will have the best playing conditions possible which sets the standard of the tournament to be very high.”
The draw for the tournament, including court times across the age groups, can be found here.
Head professional at Ipswich Sports Club, Emily Ison, added: “Hosting the East of England masters is a huge honour for ISC.
"These players are some of the greatest in the country fighting for a place to represent England at various age groups.
"The masters circuit could pick any club in the region and the fact that they are returning to ISC is a great credit to the prestige of the club and work the team have put in over the past year.”
