Ipswich Town had players flying the Tractor Boys flag on the international stage over the past week and a half. Here is how they faired for their respective nations.
Welsh duo Nathan Broadhead and Wes Burns were called up for their international friendly against South Korea and Euro 2024 Qualifier against Latvia.
Broadhead started the 0-0 draw against South Korea at the Cardiff City Stadium last Thursday and was taken off after 73 minutes in replace of Bournemouth’s David Brooks, while Burns was one of three substitutes sent onto create a spark on the hour mark.
During the friendly, Wales manager Rob Page revealed that Burns had pulled his hamstring, so he had to withdraw from the squad ahead of their trip to Latvia.
Similarly for Broadhead, the 25-year-old didn’t play any minutes in the Dragon’s 2-0 win as he was an unused substitute. Goals from Aaron Ramsey and Brooks lifted Wales onto seven points in Group D.
Town skipper Sam Morsy’s opening month of Championship performances were rewarded as he played his first minutes for Egypt in five years.
The 32-year-old was sent onto the field in second-half stoppage time of Egypt’s 1-0 win at home to Ethiopia, in their Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier last Friday. Egypt sit top of Group D after six games.
Morsy won his ninth Egypt cap last night when he came on as a substitute in the 86th minute of their international friendly at home to Tunisia, where they fell to a 3-1 defeat.

Defender, Elkan Baggott, scored and played 90 minutes on his return to the Indonesian Under-23s side as they began their AFC U23 Asian Cup qualification by hammering Chinese Taipei 9-0.
The 20-year-old then helped the Indonesia Under 23s book their place at the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup as he played every minute of their 2-0 win against Turkmenistan.
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Cieran Slicker played all of Scotland’s 1-0 defeat away in Spain as the Scott’s began their Euro Under-21 Qualification campaign.
