Ipswich Town: FC Spartak Trnava of Slovakia announce pre-season friendly in Austria

A Slovakian side have announced a pre-season friendly against Ipswich Town in the summer.

In a post on Twitter, FC Spartak Trnava confirmed they would be facing off against the Tractor Boys on Saturday, July 15 in Austria.

It’s the first trip abroad for the Tractor Boys since 2019 due to the pandemic, with their previous pre-season taking place in Germany.

The club are playing all of their friendly matches away this summer as Portman Road is currently undergoing a major renovation of its pitch.

It's currently unclear as to what stadium the game will be played at and whether fans will be able to attend to watch the fixture.

Trnava played in the Europa Conference League qualifiers and won the Slovak Cup last year, as well as securing third-place in the Slovakian top-flight with 15 wins in 32 matches.
