Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna praises goalkeeper Alex Palmer’s ‘great start’ after impressive Aston Villa debut
Manager Kieran McKenna has been impressed by Alex Palmer’s start to life with Ipswich Town.
The goalkeeper joined the Tractor Boys from Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion towards the back end of the January transfer window.
And he shone on debut last weekend in the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa with a string of eye-catching saves.
McKenna said: “He’s done very well. He’s a really good communicator and you can tell he’s played a lot of games over the last couple of seasons.
“He’s comfortable in his game and he knows what he likes to do and how he likes to play the game.
“We don’t expect him to be perfect – no-one is. There’s going to be mistakes along the way from every player, but he’s a very good goalkeeper and he’s had a great start.”
Palmer is set to make his first Ipswich appearance at Portman Road tomorrow against Tottenham Hotspur.
