Ipswich Town handed a boost with Dominic Ball in the frame to return against Bolton Wanderers

Dominic Ball could be back in the matchday squad this weekend in a big boost for Ipswich Town.

It was thought the midfielder was going to be out for the rest of the season after rupturing his meniscus in the 4-4 draw with Charlton Athletic in October.

However, Ball has made a fast recovery, and a decision is expected to be made today as to whether he can travel with the squad to Bolton on Saturday.

"There will be discussions this afternoon as to whether he is in the matchday squad against Bolton, or whether he stays behind to train or get some minutes in the Under-21s," said manager Kieran McKenna.

"He's been working outside on the grass now for probably six weeks with the fitness coaches, and joined in with the group over the last week. The rehabilitation coaches are doing a good job getting the players to a good level of fitness and conditioning whenever they do return to the group.

"It's about picking the right time now to re-introduce him to the squad and also the fact we have a really good competition for places."

Panutche Camara is likely to play for the Under-21s again tomorrow, after featuring for the first time in his recovery last week.
