Ipswich Town striker Tete Yengi signs on loan for Finnish club Vaasan Palloseura
Ipswich Town forward Tete Yengi has joined Finnish club Vaasan Palloseura (VPS) on loan.
The Australian, who gave an exclusive interview to Suffolk News last year, joined the Tractor Boys in the summer of 2021 from A-League outfit Newcastle Jets.
Since then he has featured primarily for the Tractor Boys' Under-23 side, as well as being an unused substitute during a Papa John's Trophy encounter against Gillingham earlier this term.
And now the 21-year-old will continue his development in the Finnish Veikkausliiga, which got under way last weekend.
Speaking to the VPS website, Yengi said: "Vaasa is a nice city with very friendly people. However, the weather is very different from Australia.
"I had never seen snow before I came here, so it was cool. I look forward to exploring the city a little more. I have also heard that Vaasa is a very nice place in summer, so I look forward to summer.
"I know that the team rose to the Veikkausliiga this season, so the competition will be very fierce. My goal is to bring joy to the fans, help the team as much as I can by scoring goals, and stay in the Veikkausliiga.
"Honestly, I don’t know much about Veikkausliiga yet, but I know that VPS is a big club and hopefully I can help them get back to the level where they’re supposed to be."
Yengi, who is set to remain with VPS under the campaign concludes in September, could make his debut during Friday's trip to FC Lahti.
