Ipswich Town suffer Lee Evans injury blow with midfielder sidelined for two months
Ipswich Town have been dealt with an injury blow, with Lee Evans set to miss the next two months of action.
The Welshman picked up a knee injury in the 1-1 draw with Cambridge United, and has been unavailable for the Blues since.
Evans was due to undergo a scan to reveal the damage caused, and it is not good news for Town.
"Lee has seen a knee specialist. He has had an injury in his knee, a different injury in a different to the one he had earlier in the season," said Kieran McKenna.
"It's going to be eight to ten weeks before he can return, so hopefully we will see him before the end of the season.
"It's of course a blow, he is an important player for us. But I think Cameron [Humphreys] coming in lately has been an absolute credit to himself and the club, and his performances have been consistent and he has given everything he has to the team.
"So we are also happy with what we have at the moment, but any team in this league would miss Lee Evans for the periods of time we have missed him for."
The Ipswich boss gave an update on the player's missing from his ranks ahead of the important clash with Forest Green Rovers at Portman Road.
Massimo Luongo has returned to training and could feature against League One's basement side, while Dominic Ball and Panutche Camara are progressing on the grass in their recoveries.
Tyreece John-Jules was due to return to Suffolk this weekend, but is suffering with illness.
However, Town will be without George Edmundson against Duncan Ferguson's men, who has picked up an ankle injury.
"He has got an injury in his ankle which he picked up in the Burnley game," added McKenna.
"He's still not trained and we are not sure on availability. He is having a scan today so we will see how serious that is."
