Woman found with stab wounds near Nacton in stable condition as detectives quiz man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
A woman who was found with stab wounds near Ipswich is in a stable condition in hospital today as police investigations continue.
Officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of attempted murder after the woman was found with injuries in the Nacton area at about 11.20am yesterday.
He has been transferred from the police investigation centre in Martlesham to the one in Great Yarmouth where he will be interviewed by detectives today.
It comes after police were called to reports a woman had been seen in a state of distress in the Yarmouth Road area of Kirby Cane, near Bungay at about 8.40am on Monday.
The woman was then seen being driven away from the address.
Police later received reports a woman had been found in Nacton, and she was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.
She remains there today in a stable condition.
Detective Inspector Tom Smith, from Norfolk Police, said: "Our enquiries are continuing to establish the events leading up to the woman sustaining her injuries.
"However, we do believe those involved are known to each other.”
