Woman, in 70s, dies after medical emergency in Chapel Road, Saxmundham

A woman in her 70s has died following a medical emergency in Saxmundham which saw a road closed.

Suffolk Police were called to a house in Chapel Road at around 9.20am following reports of someone having suffered a medical episode.

An ambulance, first responder team and an air ambulance were in attendance but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A cordon was put in place while investigations were carried out and remains on the street.

A police spokesman said the woman's next of kin had been informed and that her death is being treated as 'unexplained'.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 58 of April 28.
