Billy McNicholl murder in Ipswich: Woman in 50s bailed while investigations continue
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Billy McNicholl in Ipswich has been bailed.
Suffolk Police yesterday confirmed that a woman in her 50s was arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was discovered on New Year’s Day.
Officers were called to an address in Hawthorn Drive, Chantry, shortly before 6pm.
When they arrived, they found the body of a man inside, who was later identified as 63-year-old Billy McNicholl.
A murder investigation was launched over the weekend as his death was believed to be suspicious.
A Home Office post mortem examination confirmed head injuries and a single stab wound as the cause of Mr McNicholl’s death.
She was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.
On Wednesday, a week after his murder, family paid tribute to Mr McNicholl, describing him as a ‘kind and thoughtful’ punk.
