Ipswich Borough Council vows to step up fight against knife crime in latest meeting
Authorities in Ipswich will take a tougher stance on knife and associated crimes, a council has agreed.
Ipswich Borough Council has vowed to make the Gangs and County Lines Strategy more effective.
It already works alongside the police, the county council, and neighbouring authorities to disrupt gangs and engage with people at risk.
The council also works with parents and carers and tells them how they can help their children - but it admitted more needs to be done.
A spokesperson for Ipswich Borough Council said: "We will be looking swiftly at what more we can do to work towards minimising the scourge of knife crime and its consequences for both its victims as well as the wider disruption it causes."
The council will announce more information on its improved strategy to deal with knife crime at a later date.
