A14 westbound in Ipswich closed due to serious crash between car and motorcycle
UPDATE 19:03: The road has been reopened.
A section of the A14 near Ipswich has been closed following a serious crash between a two cars and two motorcycle.
The incident, which occurred between Junction 55 and 56 at 4.40pm, has seen ambulance teams, fire crews and the police in attendance.
Traffic has been diverted onto the nearby slip roads to allow drivers to rejoin the A14.
National Highways said that the incident caused two miles of congestion - nearly reaching the Orwell Bridge - and 15 minute delays.
Suffolk Police conducted a full crash investigation.
A spokesperson for National Highways said the injuries sustained were not as serious as previously thought.
