Erand Ahmadaj, Fabio Kurit and Rupert Lea to appear before Ipswich Crown Court later this month after large amount of uncut cocaine seized
A trio of suspected drug dealers are set for crown court later this month after a large amount of uncut cocaine was seized from a vehicle in Ipswich.
Erand Ahmadaj, Fabio Kurit and Rupert Lea appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich on Friday.
This follows a car being stopped in Norwich Road at 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Officers searched the vehicle and its two occupants, eventually uncovering 12 bags of cocaine. The pair were then arrested.
Another two men were arrested at a property in Tacket Street after more drugs – including a large amount of uncut cocaine – plus a further 75 bags of cocaine and a quantity of suspected cannabis were found.
All four were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Ahmadaj, 22, of Windsor Road, Gillingham, Kent, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply as well as being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of criminal property and possession of a false identity document.
Kurit, 35, of Tacket Street, Ipswich, is accused of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis and possession of criminal property.
Lea, 49, of Swallow Close, Felixstowe, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Following their appearance before magistrates, Ahmadaj and Kurit were remanded in custody while Lea was bailed.
They are set for a hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on April 25.
The fourth man, arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and permitting a premises to be used for the supply of drugs, was released on bail until June 2 while the investigation continues.
