Tribute to Ipswich doctor Ramaswamy Jayaram who worked for the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust

An NHS mental health trust has paid tribute to a doctor who was found dead in Ipswich earlier this week.

Caroline Donavan, chief executive of the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT), said her thoughts were with those who knew Dr Ramaswamy Jayaram.

She said: “My deepest sympathy and condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues of our much loved and respected Dr Ramaswamy Jayaram, known as Dr Jay to his colleagues and friends, at this incredibly sad time.”

The body of Dr Jayaram was found in Braziers Wood, Ipswich, on Wednesday following a four day search for him.

Formal identification is yet to take place but his family were told about the discovery, which was made by a member of the public.

On Wednesday, Suffolk Police said his death is being treated as unexplained, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
