Traffic chaos as multiple disruptions on the A14 near Ipswich cause delays
There was chaos on the A14 outside Ipswich this morning as multiple disruptions caused delays.
Police attended the scene of three broken-down vehicles this morning, which slowed traffic for miles.
One vehicle broke down near Sproughton, which blocked one lane.
Police were called at 8.24am to the incident.
A crane was brought in to clear the road, which reopened at about 12.30pm.
Officers also attended an incident at the Capel St Mary turn-off near Copdock, where a yellow Kia had broken down.
They were called at 8.48am, and the vehicle was pulled into a lay-by.
Another incident was on the Copdock Interchange on the A14, just before the turnoff onto the A12.
A Ford Focus broke down at the traffic lights.
A Suffolk Police spokesperson said the car had been moved on by 8.38am.
The AA route planner has also picked up a disruption at the Nacton Interchange in Junction 57 near the Orwell Bridge.
The incident was first reported at 9.03am and traffic is coping well.
The AA route planner also showed delays from Copdock to Needham Market, but these have since dispersed.
