A14 and A12 delays outside Ipswich ease as drivers flock to Suffolk Show
Traffic is starting to ease along two major routes outside Ipswich after a chaotic morning as thousands drove to visit the Suffolk Show.
The return of the popular event at Trinity Park meant there were a lot more drivers on the roads this morning than normal.
Both the A14 and A12, between Whitehouse Interchange and Seven Hills Interchange, saw heavy delays.
Average speeds dropped to five miles per hour on the A12 southbound and delays exceeded 20 minutes, while a traffic incident on the Orwell Bridge only worsened delays on the A14.
A vehicle broke-down shortly after 10am, but was cleared by 10.12am, which led to congestion back to Copdock.
Delays also exceeded 15 minutes on the A14 during rush hour.
As of 1pm, traffic on both the A14 and A12 has eased.
in addition, Felixstowe Road, which contains an entrance to Trinity Park, has also seen significantly reduced congestion.
