Ipswich prepares for Half Marathon on October 23, hosted by Jane Tomlinson's Run For All, after it was postponed following The Queen's death
A half marathon will return to a town centre after being postponed following the death of The Queen.
Kicking off from Portman Road Stadium at 9.30am on October 23, the Ipswich Half Marathon will see runners from across Suffolk take part to raise money for charity.
Many roads in and around the River Orwell will be closed for much of the day due to the event.
Russell Road, Sir Alf Ramsay Way and Constantine Road will be closed from 4am.
Other road closures are scheduled for 8am, and will open between 10.15am and 3pm.
This is the first event Jane Tomlinson's Run For All hosts in the county.
The route will take runners on a tour of the historic town centre, including the Waterfront, Holywells Park and around the River Orwell.
It ends outside The Blues' stadium, where it began.
The run was originally supposed to happen on September 11.
Entry to run is still open.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Run For All’s Head of Events, at Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, race organiser, said: "We are really looking forward to our first event in the county of Suffolk.
"Unfortunately, an event of this scale does mean some road closures are necessary to ensure the safety of all involved.
"We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused and will lift the closures as soon as possible."
