Ipswich café fire leads to town centre road closure

Two fire engines are currently on the scene of a café fire in St Matthew's Street, Ipswich.

Fire crews from Ipswich East and Princes Street were called to a three storey building fire, which is believed to have started at the Star Express All Day Cafe at the top of Civic Drive.

Police officers have closed part of St Matthew's Street to help the fire service and reports on social media suggest traffic is building up in the Civic Drive and Crown Street area.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire Service said they were called to the scene at 11.32am and a stop was called at 12.12pm.

No casualties have been reported.
