A group of 300 volunteers have transformed the offices of a Suffolk charity.

Earlier this month, the volunteers armed themselves with paint brushes, rollers and gardening tools and painted the building's sports dome, weeded the site, built fences, and carried out essential repairs.

Within eight hours, the team had completely transformed the Lindbergh Road headquarters, the charity said.

Rob Schwartz, the stake president for the LDS revealed that choosing to help Inspire was an easy choice.

He said: “It has been a privilege to partner with Inspire for our Helping Hands service initiative this year.

"To be able to improve and enhance Inspire’s facilities to both further its mission and express our Christian beliefs is the perfect match.”

Inspire works with people between the ages of 16-26 across Suffolk and north Essex and provides them with education, wellbeing services and employment opportunities.

Materials for the overhaul were donated by various companies including Screwfix, Wickes, Dulux Decorator Centre, Jewson and Travis Perkins.

Katiuska Torres-Watling, community fund-raiser at Inspire said: “The difference the Church group made in 8 short hours is astounding. They have transformed our community spaces, breathing a fresh lease of life into them that will benefit everyone who visits us.

"Not only that, but their support means we can continue to focus on the things that matter most - helping young people discover what they’re capable of. We can’t thank the team enough for choosing us."
