Why there was heavy Suffolk Police presence and a cordon in Ipswich Lindbergh Road
Police have revealed why there was a heavy police presence in Ipswich earlier this afternoon.
Officers were called to Lindbergh Road shortly after 1pm today, and a large cordon was put in place shortly before 1.45pm, which saw over a dozen vehicles in attendance.
A man was arrested in connection with the incident, a Suffolk police spokesperson said.
This came after reports of a car being driven by someone acting suspiciously, they added.
Inquiries by officers led them to Lindbergh Road, where they attended a property.
As many as 15 emergency vehicles were at the scene, including riot vans and rural police teams.
Reports from social media said dog units were also present.
Police have revealed the man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and affray.
Lee Nicholls, 35, has since been charged with the three alleged offences.
The cordon has been lifted and the road reopened.
