Earlier this year, the Regent Theatre have announced a £3 million refurbishment project which will include larger bar areas, modernised toilets and an improvement to the entrance foyer for better disabled access.
To fund the project, a Restoration Levy of £1.50 per ticket has been introduced. This will be added to all tickets over £10 and the income from this will be ring-fenced for refurbishment, improvement and upkeep of the theatre.
The venue hopes to begin work by the end of 2025.
