A teenager was the victim of a sexual assault and robbery while walking in the early hours in Ipswich.

The attack was between 3am to 3.45am on Sunday at King's Avenue near the town centre.

The victim, a woman in her teens, was walking alone before she was grabbed from behind by a man, who lifted her skirt and ran off.

She then saw a man ahead of her standing by parked cars, who followed her and lifted her skirt before tackling her to the ground, stealing her phone and bank card before running off.

The man is described as being 5ft 11in and skinny, and was wearing a ski mask and jumper with the hood up.

The crime was reported last night, and police are urging witnesses, or anyone driving around at the time who may have dashcam footage, to contact Ipswich CID quoting 37/51035/22.

They also issued a warning for anyone walking alone, particularly during the night, to remain vigilant.
