Taco Bell in Ipswich's Anglia Retail Park approved by council

Suffolk will gain its first Taco Bell following council approval of a planning application this morning.

Set to take up the old Carphone Warehouse lot in Anglia Retail Park in Ipswich, the US chain will gain its first publicly-available restaurant in the county.

Ipswich Borough Council's Planning Comittee reportedly approved the plans in 'around 10 minutes' with the plan being uncontentious.

It will share the park with other giants such as Costa Coffee, Tim Hortons, KFC, and will be located opposite the Asda complex.

Councillor Carole Jones said: "The new chain should make Anglia Retail Park more attractive to customers visitors and will complement the other businesses in the area.

"Anglia Retail Park supports a variety of businesses and it is good to make use of an empty lot.

"The council are happy with the idea of Taco Bell moving in as it will help support the business park."

There is another Taco Bell at RAF Lakenheath, but it is not open to the public.
