Suffolk Police seize suspected weapons as Foxhall Road address is searched as part of Operation Hull to tackle gang crime
A teenager has been arrested and multiple suspected weapons were seized at a property in Ipswich.
Ipswich Police searched an address in Foxhall Road at 7.30am on September 22 after intelligence linked a firearm to it.
A search of the house found no guns, but police did sieze other items they suspected could be used a weapons, including a hammer and barbecue skewers.
The warrant was conducted as part of Operation Hull, Suffolk Police's response to rising gang crime.
It saw multiple agencies comes together to solve problems linked to gang violence and disrupt and arrest those involved.
Ipswich Police Superintendant Andy Martin said: "This proactive operation demonstrates how we are very keen Suffolk remains a hostile environment for those involved in criminality and we will continue to pursue, disrupt and arrest those people."
"Such operational warrants are a routine aspect of policing because of the intelligence that members of the public provide.
"Whilst nothing was found on this occasion, we can reassure the community that we will act on intelligence and continue to disrupt criminals."
He added: "Intelligence gathering, taking enforcement action and patrolling communities are the fundamentals of our role. We will always be extremely grateful for the help of our local communities as they are our eyes and ears."
