Large load in Ipswich may cause delays on A14 and A137 this weekend




A large load will be travelling across Suffolk this weekend which could cause delays on the A14.

A slow-moving lorry will be transporting the load from Ipswich Port to the National Grid Bramford Substation on Sunday.

This is the second of four transformer deliveries to leave the port at 8am and follow local roads to the A137, A14, A1214, A1071, B1113, Bullen Lane and then to the site.

The eastbound carriageway of the A14 will be closed from 9am to 11am between junctions 56 and 55 to enable to delivery.

The load will travel west using the eastbound lane with a police escort.

A temporary overbridge will be constructed on the A137 for the load to cross Ostrich Creek and the northbound lane of Wherstead Road from the junction with the B1456 and junction with Bostock Road will be closed while the overbridge is being installed on Saturday morning and removed on Sunday afternoon.
