Six fire engines tackle undergrowth blaze at Pipers Vale, off Sandy Hill Lane in Ipswich

Six fire engines were tackling a blaze affecting half an acre of gorse and undergrowth at a nature reserve.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to Pipers Vale in Ipswich at 3.44pm to a fire in the open off Sandy Hill Lane.

No casualties were reported and, by 6.12pm, crews had scaled back and were damping down the scene.

Police were also involved in the incident.
