Shoppers' shock after serious assault in Ipswich Westgate Street
Shoppers in a town have expressed their shock after a suspected serious assault earlier this afternoon.
Police were called to Westgate Street, Ipswich, at 3.35pm, following reports that a male was assaulted.
The large cordon is still in place following the incident.
A woman who was at the scene said she was shocked to hear of the incident and hopes any culprits are caught soon.
Her friend was 'shaking in fear' at what had happened.
Two men were surprised to hear of the incident, and that it could happen in the town centre.
Their thoughts were with the victim.
Police have since confirmed that an 18-year-old man died following a stabbing.
Suffolk Police have urged anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.
