Woodbridge Road East roadworks near Ipswich Hospital expected to end next week
Roadworks along a major route in Ipswich should end next week.
The repairs on Woodbridge Road East which began on September 29 are set to continue until Monday morning, Suffolk Highways has confirmed.
This means they will have been in place for two weeks when removed.
It was reported last week that the roadworks would be extended by five days, ending today.
However, for the last stage of repairs, this has been extended again, and they should be gone before rush hour Monday morning.
Suffolk Highways said on Twitter: "The final stages of the works involve the void being filled with concrete, two layers of road base materials being laid along with surfacing and relaying of road markings."
The road is busy and sees traffic from both the A14 and A12 and joins a major route into the town centre.
It is also sees school traffic during term time, being close to St Albans, Copleston and Northgate secondary schools.
