Ipswich's Princes Street closed as emergency services work to rescue woman found in water under bridge

Parts of a central Ipswich street are closed this evening as emergency services work to rescue a woman who was found in water under a bridge.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said Princes Street is shut after a woman was found in the mud and water underneath the bridge at about 4.25pm with ambulance, fire teams and police on the scene.

A helicopter was expected to land shortly in the vicinity of Princes Street, which connects the town centre to the railway station, to help get the woman to safety, he added.
