Retrospective plans to turn Ipswich care home Warren Heath Residential Home, in Felixstowe Road, into HMO

Retrospective plans have been submitted to turn a care home in Ipswich into a 19-bed HMO.

Charles and Jane Adepetu have lodged a change of use application to Ipswich Borough Council, seeking to convert Warren Heath Residential Home, in Felixstowe Road.

New cycle storage would be provided and the existing nine car parking spaces at the site would remain.

The ground floor would contain eight bedrooms, while the upper floor would contain 11.

According to the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Mr and Mrs Adepetu are listed as the providers for the home.

The pair are listed as the directors of Warrenheath Residential Home Ltd on Companies House.

Warren Heath Residential Home was twice rated as inadequate by the CQC and placed into special measures.

Planning documents submitted noted the ‘significantly below average’ crime rate in the area, with five offences – all listed as violence or sexual in nature – reported in the past 12 months.

The proposals will go before planners soon.
