Tuddenham St Martin pub The Fountain sold as couple look to expand their portfolio
A couple looking to expand their portfolio of pubs have purchased a popular Suffolk freehold.
Husband and wife Tom and Ruth Carroll have purchased The Fountain in Tuddenham St Martin, near Ipswich, for £650,000 after it was listed with specialist property agents Fleurets.
It is the second pub that the couple have acquired, after purchasing The Catherine Wheel pub in Albury, Hertforshire, last year.
The couple are looking to build a group of traditional country pubs, with emphasis placed on sourcing locally sourced produce.
“We are absolutely delighted to be the new owners of The Fountain and are looking forward to building on its existing reputation for good food and great service," said Tom.
“Similar to what we have done at The Catherine Wheel, high quality locally sourced produce will be at the heart of what we do”
The couple added that they are keen to keep the unique characteristics of the pub, which had been maintained by previous owners Scott Davidson and Charles Lewis.
“The Fountain is a beautiful pub in a lovely setting and previous owners Scott and Charles have built a very special relationship over the years with its loyal customers," Ruth said.
"The warm feeling and friendly atmosphere were the first thing we noticed about the pub, and with the help of the wonderful existing team we will ensure this continues.
"We are looking forward to the future of The Fountain with great excitement”.
