Driver who fled crash scene after travelling on A12 near East Bergholt in wrong direction sought by police




Police are on the hunt for a driver who fled the scene of a head-on crash after travelling in the wrong direction on the A12 near East Bergholt.

Officers were alerted by members of the public to a small, white car travelling in the wrong direction on the northbound carriageway between junctions 30 and 31 at around 8.25pm yesterday.

The car then collided with a Mercedes, which caused the driver of a Mazda to swerve into the central reservation to avoid the other vehicles.

The driver of the white car, described as an elderly woman, then fled the scene and continued travelling in the wrong direction.

No one was injured in the crash.

Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting reference 37/25754/21.
