Warmline Business lodges MOT and car repair centre plans for 542 Woodbridge Road, Ipswich

A new MOT and vehicle repair centre could be coming to Ipswich.

Naveed Mohiuddin, of Warmline Business Ltd, has lodged a change of use application with Ipswich Borough Council, seeking to convert 542 Woodbridge Road.

Warmline operates the site as a tyre shop and fitting bay.

If approved, it would remain in use as a tyre fitting centre while also offering MOTs and car repairs.

Crown Glass, the previous occupant of the site, is now online-only.

Under the plans, the outside of the building would remain unchanged.

No new parking spaces would be added, as Mr Mohiuddin felt existing bays would be enough for customers.

Mr Mohiuddin believed the change of use was a ‘logical and sustainable extension’ for the business.

“The proposed change of use at 542 Woodbridge Road to include an MOT centre and car mechanical repairs, is a logical and sustainable extension of the existing use,” he said.

“The proposal aligns with national and local planning policies, supports the local economy, and meets the growing demand for vehicle services in the area.

“The development will have minimal impact on the surrounding area and will continue to contribute to the vitality and functionality of this mixed-use location.

“We respectfully request that Ipswich Borough Council grants planning permission for this application.”
