A14 outside Ipswich reopens after broken down car caused miles of tailbacks, including on Orwell Bridge
The A14 outside Ipswich has reopened after a broken down car caused miles of tailbacks.
National Highways said traffic stopped on the eastbound side between junctions 56 at Wherstead and 57 at Nacton Interchange at 6.44am.
One lane was closed, but it reopened at 8.44am.
At its peak, the authority said motorists could expect delays of 45 minutes, including on the Orwell Bridge.
Traffic on the A14 backed up for about eight miles, all the way to Claydon.
There were also heavy delays on the A12 down to Tattingstone.
The delays were only made worse by a stalled mini-van on the Orwell Bridge, which cleared shortly after 7am.
