Man remains in custody after incident in Ipswich Lindbergh Road which saw 15 Suffolk Police vehicles attend




A man remains in custody after an incident in a Suffolk street that saw over a dozen police vehicles attend.

Police were called to Lindbergh Road in Ipswich, shortly after 1pm yesterday, and a large cordon was put in place shortly before 1.45pm.

A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and affray following reports of a vehicle driven in a 'suspicious manner'.

In total, about 15 police vehicles, including rural, riot and dog units, attended.

Suffolk Police have since revealed that 35-year-old Lee Nicholls has been charged with the three alleged offences.

A spokesperson added: "A number of police assets responded due to the nature of the incident and remained in the area on Lindbergh Road whilst it was brought to a safe conclusion.

"We thank the public for their understanding whose safety is always the priority in such situations.”
