Ipswich man Darren Grimwood ordered to pay compensation after stealing parcels from doorsteps




An Ipswich man has been ordered to pay £164 after he stole several parcels from doorsteps in the town.

Darren Grimwood, of Landseer Road, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court yesterday where he admitted seven counts of theft.

The 34 year old was identified after he stole two bags of Himalayan salt, worth £70, from a doorstep in Martinet Green on October 27.

The victim provided evidence to the police which led them to investigate and question Grimwood.

He later admitted stealing a pair of trainers from outside a house in Boyton Road on October 28 and various items worth £53 from a house in Dereham Road.

He also took a parcel containing face masks from a doorstep in Munnings Close on December 11 and stole a food parcel from Alnesbourne Crescent on February 16.

He was ordered by magistrates to pay £164 in compensation.
