Ipswich man Warren Atkinson appears at Suffolk Magistrates' Court accused of murdering Steven Povey at Beaumont Guest House in Norwich Road

An Ipswich man has today appeared in court charged with murdering a man at a guest house in the town.
Warren Atkinson appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court accused of killing Steven Povey on Friday at Beaumont Guest House in Norwich Road, where Atkinson was a resident.
In the two minute hearing, the 40 year old spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
The court was told the charge was so serious it could only be dealt with at a crown court.
Atkinson was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court this afternoon.
