Ipswich man Keith Parchment appears in court charged with cleaning product thefts from town centre stores
A man stands accused of stealing hundreds of pounds worth of care and cleaning products from shops in Ipswich town centre.
Keith Parchment, 63, of Blenheim Road, Ipswich, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
He has pleaded not guilty to 13 counts of theft from a shop.
Parchment is accused of stealing numerous items from three businesses in Ipswich
His first charge related to the theft of sunglasses from Vision Express, in Tavern Street, on March 11, which were worth £246, the court heard.
He is also accused of four counts of stealing cleaning products from B&M, in Carr Street, on March 16, worth £149.88 in total.
This was followed by one count for eight bottles of shampoo, worth £47.92, plus three more for the theft of other cleaning products, all of which were taken from B&M on March 23.
In addition, he is accused of a further three counts of cleaning product thefts from B&M on March 30, worth £135.48.
That same day he is accused of stealing a bottle of fragrance, worth £100, from Boots on March 30, for which he gained another count.
The total for all items stolen was £802.78.
Parchment has been bailed until April 28 for another appearance at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court.
He has been barred from entering Vision Express, B&M or Boots and must spend nights at his home.
