Umari Pomari appears before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court over Norwich Road, Ipswich, double stabbing




A man accused of a double stabbing in Ipswich has appeared in court.

Urim Pomari, of Dillwyn Street, Ipswich, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

He stands accused of two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm plus one of cocaine possession with intent to supply.

This follows an incident in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers were called to an address in Norwich Road at 12.20am.

When they arrived, they found two men – one in his 40s and another in his 20s – had suffered stab wounds.

Pomari was arrested in connection with the stabbings at 2.20am.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Pomari has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on April 14.
