Ashtons Legal will relocate to Portman House in Ipswich, near Ipswich Town Football Club
A legal firm which has offices all over East Anglia, including Suffolk, will move into a new premises in Ipswich this summer.
Ashtons Legal revealed its 100 staff in the town will set up in Portman House, located near Ipswich Town Football Club, from June 30 – a building that dates back to the 1920s.
The firm hopes to refurbish the inside to allow for an open working space, to allow for meeting places between both staff and clients.
Ashtons is currently based in the town's iconic waterfront, next to Bistro on the Quay, and have been since 2005.
It also has offices in Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Diss, Leeds and Norwich.
Portman House is owned by Ipswich Borough Assets, an arm of the council.
James Tarling, the legal firm's boss, said its new home should create a better working environment.
He added: "We are looking forward to welcoming clients and others to the new offices when we complete our move in June.
"It has been a pleasure working with Savills to help us complete this move and we look forward to continuing to work closely with our new landlords."
