Ipswich Town player Arijanet Muric, 26, fined more than £23,000 after admitting driving offences




An Ipswich Town player was fined more than £23,000 after admitting two driving offences.

Arijanet Muric, 26, of Playford Road, Ipswich, was sentenced at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court today having been charged with driving without third party insurance and driving while using a mobile phone.

The offences took place in St Margaret’s Street, Ipswich, on August 14.

Muric, who was not present in court, was driving a Bentley Bentayga at the time of the incidents.

Christopher Day, chair of the magistrates, said Muric would receive a £21,412 fine for the driving without insurance offence as well as six points on his licence.

There was no separate penalty for the mobile phone charge.

Muric was also handed a £2,000 victim surcharge and ordered to pay £110 of prosecution costs.
