Here are the dates of bin collections in Suffolk over the Christmas period
It's the most wonderful time of the year – but also leads to a lot of waste piling up.
Public services up and down the country will face delays over the holiday season as people take a much-needed break.
Bin workers need time off, too, so here are all of the changes to bin collections across Suffolk.
West Suffolk Council
Bin collections for West Suffolk, including Haverhill, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds, are facing small changes and will run normally until December 23.
Residents can expect the collection that would otherwise fall on December 26 to be collected two days earlier, on Christmas Eve.
Following this, from December 27 to January 6, collection will occur one day late.
From January 8, collections will resume as normal.
Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils
Babergh and Mid Suffolk, including Sudbury, Hadleigh and Stowmarket, run on alternating schedules.
In Babergh, recycling bin collections will be two days late from December 26 to 29.
The December 30 collection will be delayed until January 3.
Refuse collection from January 2 to 5 will also be two days late, while the January 6 collection will instead happen on January 9.
In the second week of recycling, from January 9 to 13, collections will be one day late.
From January 16, service should return to normal.
Garden waste pick-up will be normal on December 23, but will not occur again until January 9.
Babergh District Council urged residents to get their bins out by 6.30am on the morning of collections.
For Mid Suffolk, this schedule is flipped.
Refuse collection is delayed by two days from December 26 to 29, and the December 30 collection will occur on January 3.
From January 2 to 5, recycling bin collections will be two days late, and the January 6 collection will be on January 9.
For the second week of refuse collection, from January 9 to 13, collections will be one day late.
Service resumes as normal from January 16.
Garden waste pick-up will also be normal on December 23, but will not occur again until January 9.
Ipswich Borough Council
For those living in Ipswich, there will be no brown bin collections on or between December 27 and January 9.
They will resume as normal on January 10.
Other than that, both blue and black bin collections will run on schedule.
Black bins will be collected between December 20 to 23, while blue bins will be collected between December 27 to 30.

East Suffolk Council
For those living in East Suffolk Council, which includes Kesgrave, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Lowestoft and Framlingham, bin collections face a small delay.
Refuse collections will not take place on Monday 26 December and will resume on Tuesday 27 December.
During this week, all waste and recycling collections in East Suffolk will be one day later than scheduled.
Collections will return to the normal schedule from January 2.
