A12 between Ipswich and Colchester blocked after crash involving Nissan Micra and lorry

A key route has been partially blocked after a crash involving a lorry and a car.

Suffolk Police were called to the A12 outside Capel St Mary, near Ipswich, at about 1.45pm, after reports of a collision between two vehicles.

The crash took place near the Esso garage just south of the village, a police spokesperson said.

An HGV and a Nissan Micra were involved, they added.

There is heavy congestion between the village and Colchester, with delays in excess of 15 minutes, according to the AA route planner.

One lane was blocked, but police and recovery are on scene to clear the road.
