Dale Hall Primary School under-11s girls’ team to represent Ipswich Town at national cup
Budding footballers from an Ipswich primary school’s girls’ team will round out a strong season with a stint in a national championship.
Dale Hall Primary School’s under-11s will compete in the Girls’ English Football League U11 Cup.
The team are gearing up for the final in June, where they will represent Ipswich Town Football Club at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Molineux Stadium
The girls are eager to continue their streak after having not conceded a goal in recent games.
Ivy and Erin, two teammates at Dale Hall, spoke of their successes.
They said: “We know we will always remember this experience and our time playing football together as a group of friends.”
Another teammate, Poppy, said she was ‘incredibly proud’ of everything they achieved.
Zara, another player, said: “We all get along so well as a team, which makes playing for Dale Hall even more enjoyable.”
Dale Hall, part of Penrose Learning Trust, aspires to offer a range of sporting activities for its youngsters, including a school football club for up to 45 players.
This academic year alone, pupils have taken part in more than 40 sporting fixtures, including dodgeball, cricket and athletics.
Jo Dedicoat, headteacher, praised the successes of the under-11s team.
The school was proud of their hard work, commitment and team spirit, she said, which has secured them a successful season.
She added: “It has been great to see them grow as players and as young people, and we know they have very bright futures ahead of them.”
