Ipswich Summertime Festival returns to the waterfront next week

A family festival is set to return to Ipswich next week following its success last year.

Live music, fairground rides, a market, food and drink stalls are all on offer at Summertime Ipswich.

Located on the waterfront, the festival kicks off at 10am Saturday morning, running through until 10pm.

The opening evening will be closed out with a fireworks display, before the festivities return on Sunday morning.

Stage performances on Sunday will run until 6pm, with the stalls and fairground remaining open until 8pm.

Ipswich Borough Council says the festival was so well-received last year that it will be returning in the same format.

Councillor Sophie Connelly, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Culture, says: “We are thrilled to again be able to bring this celebration Summertime Ipswich to the Waterfront."

She added: “We’re determined to make sure that residents have as many activities to look forward to as possible and this August summer celebration at Ipswich Waterfront with local music on stage and fireworks to enjoy in a beautiful setting is something we are hugely proud to provide.

"Our summer events programme is always packed full of activities from Ipswich Fit and outdoors at our parks around the town.”
