Ipswich festival Brighten The Corners announces second wave of acts for 2025, including Bob Vylan, OneDa and Waldo’s Gift

A Welsh ‘drone-pop’ act and a drum-and-bass and jazz-flecked hip-hop outfit are among the latest bands announced for an Ipswich music festival later this year.

Post-punk duo Bob Vylan have been announced as the second headliners for 2025’s Brighten The Corners Festival, which runs from June 13 to 14.

The festival promises to shine a spotlight on up-and-coming, genre defying acts, including Manchester-based rapper OneDa and Waldo’s Gift, with their mix of ‘math rock and glitched out jazz fusion’.

In addition, the infectious bass licks of Master Peace hark back to 2000s acts such as Bloc Party, while alt rock trio HotWax and Ellis D will also take to the stage.

Marcus Neal, programmer for Brighten The Corners, said: “We are proud to announce the second wave of artists for our 2025 festival, including our second headliners Bob Vylan who we are certain will bring the Corn Exchange to its knees with their infectious energy this summer.

“Elsewhere across the programme we continue to bring a broad and diverse range of performers to Ipswich, from OneDa’s Mancunian hip-hop, Welsh language indie-pop from Adwaith, the hypnotic psychedelia of Mandrake Handshake and SILVERWINGKILLER’s dystopian breakbeats.”
